In Mr. Dawson's lay-out plan approximately 12 acres

of the Kai Tak area are allotted to the Civil Establishment

and there is practical by no possibility of extension to this area which no doubt may be more than sufficient for some time

to come.

The area allotted to the R.A.F. Establishment is approximately 28 acres of the Kai Tak area and this area is capable of extension. The R.A.F. requirements are shewm to

include the Ceol site which is additional to the Kai Tak area

and also certain Crown land to the North-East of the Aerodrome

for officers quarters.

11.

The Civil and R.A.F. areas being separated by the length of the Aerodrome any modifications that either service may wish to make as the schemes develop can be carried out independently of each other provided that the area of the Aerodrome is not encroached upon.

12.

Having considered the requirements of both Services 1 am prepared to recommend the acceptance of r. Dawson's lay-out scheme and should it meet with Government's approval it is hoped the Air Ministry will be prepared to acquiesce in its adoption.

I would acknowledge with thanks the valuable service and the assistance which Mr. Dawson has so willingly rendered to this Department and we shall be glad to furnish him with any

time. any further Estimates or details which he may require at
